teacher training college IHWO LOW April 2016 Feedback As A Springboard For Learning

In this session, we shall explore the following questions:
What is 'feedback'?
Why is it important to the teaching and learning process?
Who gives and gets feedback?
When can/should it be included in lessons?
What can we give and get feedback on?
How may feedback differ according to the age of our students?
What things should teachers be aware of?

These questions will be explored through examples of classroom activities and materials designed for different ages and levels of learners. Participants will hopefully go away with a greater understanding of the concept of 'feed forward' as a means of directing and engaging their students on their learning journey, as well as an evaluation tool of what has been taught/learnt.

Diana is Director of Studies of IH Torres Vedras Portugal. She has taught and given training courses in Egypt, the UK, Spain, Poland and Romania. She is also a DELTA Assessor and Course Tutor for the IHCYLT. She has recently completed an MA in Teaching English To Young Learners through the University of York.
